I’m Elyse! I have a Master of Arts in Teaching degree as well as Wilderness First Aid certification. I worked as a classroom science teacher before working on the island, and I absolutely love our focus on experiential learning. I’ve found that while many students struggle to learn in classrooms, both learning and joy come quite easily on the island, where students explore wildlife and engage in challenge courses.
My favorite part of my job is seeing students develop friendships, teamwork skills, and an appreciation for wildlife. In my spare time, I enjoy drawing cartoon characters, writing stories, lying in the sun, and learning about animals.
