Thompson Island is one of the largest, most accessible and most ecologically diverse islands in the Boston Harbor Islands National and State Park. With 204 acres of undeveloped property, the island has mature forests, meadows, freshwater and marine wetlands, salt marshes, and a variety of important geological features. Amenities include a formal school campus complete with dormitories, dining hall, classrooms, lab space, auditoriums, gymnasium, outdoor challenge courses, and climbing towers.

Ocean Bluff Pavilion Venue Site

The larger of our outdoor wedding reception sites offers two majestic tents that overlook Boston’s skyline, framed by lush island trees. Arched entrances, vaulted ceiling, interior/exterior lighting and inlaid tile floors adorn the 40’ x 100’ white tent, which can accommodate up to 250 people. The smaller 40’ x 70’ Olympic white frame tent with French windowed walls, interior lighting, tables and chairs is an ideal venue for cocktail hour or dancing. This venue sits next to a football size field for volleyball, soccer and other activities.

Waterfront Landing Venue Site

Panoramic views of the harbor and Boston’s skyline will surely impress your guests at this charming 40’ x 140’ rustic chic wooden pavilion with exposed beams, high open eaves and interior lighting. After the ceremony, guests will enjoy lawn games and a bonfire on the beach. This unrivaled beachfront setting accommodates up to 225 people.

Waterfront Landing Ceremony Site

This Massachusetts outdoor wedding venue shines! Let the site’s lofty trees, gentle ocean breezes and stunning view of Boston’s waterfront add a touch of effortless elegance to your wedding ceremony and make the moment you say “I do” truly unforgettable.

Our seaside Ocean Bluff Gazebo offers an exquisite location to share your vows. Enjoy the best a New England island wedding can offer against a backdrop of distant ocean waves framed by delicate shade trees.

Overnight Accommodations

Once your epic east coast beach wedding has concluded for the day, you and your guests may enjoy our overnight accommodations, including a stunning five-bedroom Colonial, an executive retreat apartment and two historic dormitories. Thompson Island can accommodate up to 150 guests. Rooms are fully appointed with bath towels and bedding.

Catering Services

Our executive chef will tailor your event to any taste. Featuring exquisite menu options and flexible choices, we offer full-service catering and bar service as well as event packages that make planning easy.
